PURPOSE/
SERVICES: Shawnee Community Services (SCS) provides free bread, clothing,
and shoes six days a week to anyone in need without a means test
or geographical restriction. Furniture and household goods are also
available. (Food pantry: call for appointment Monday, 8 a.m., for
anything more than bread); assistance with federal commodities;
cash assistance for utilities; prescriptions; advocacy information; and community service for schools and corrections.
