The National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA)
The following is about NADSA from their internet site at www.nadsa.org
The National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA) is the leading voice of the rapidly growing adult day service (ADS) industry in the United States, and the national focal point for adult day services providers.
NADSA is a 20-year-old organization committed to providing its members with effective national advocacy, educational and networking opportunities, technical assistance, research and communication services including:
- Ongoing advocacy with national policymakers
- Affiliations with other prominent national organizations
- A monthly newsletter and weekly e-mail news flash
- Technical briefings on issues impacting adult day services
- National program standards and guidelines
- Training workshops and conferences, including preparation for certification
- A members-only website, including a "hub" for contacting other ADS providers on a state or national level
- Start-up kits for new ADS providers
Adult day services programs are appropriate providers of community-based care for frail elders as well as persons of all ages with multiple and special needs associated with conditions such as Alzheimer's' disease, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, vision and hearing impairments, and more. The NADSA Officers and Board Members are representative of the range of persons served in the adult day setting.
To more effectively speak for and support the development of adult day services, NADSA is growing and changing in conjunction with the industry. After several decades as a constituent unit of The National Council on Aging (NCOA), NADSA has formed as an independent national organization dedicated solely to the representation of adult day services, and wholly owned by its membership. A collaborative, working relationship will be maintained with NCOA, a leading representative organization of older Americans.
