The Kansas Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment
Officials (NAHRO) presented two awards to Johnson County Housing Services
during 2008's NAHRO conference for the categories of Best Newsletter and
Best Annual Report for a Large Housing Authority.

Housing Services Report Newsletter
Housing Services receives federal, state and local funds to assist families and individuals who meet the eligibility criteria for the following programs:
Housing Authority - The Housing Authority administers Section 8 (HCV)for the cities of De Soto, Edgerton, Gardner, Lenexa, Merriam, Mission, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Roeland Park, Shawnee, Springhill and Westwood areas.
Minor Home Rehabilitation - The Minor Home Rehabilitation Program assists eligible Johnson County homeowners with home repairs and provides limited accessibility modifications for eligible persons with a disability.
Weatherization - The Weatherization Program provides assistance to low-income residents of Johnson County in making their homes more comfortable, safe and energy efficient.
Johnson County Home Program - The HOME Program assists eligible Johnson County homeowners with rehabilitation of their homes to bring them into compliance with local housing codes. (Housing Quality Standards).
ADDI (American Dream Downpayment Initiative) - The program is designed to assist low-to-moderate-income Johnson County residents or people who have worked in Johnson County for at least two years with 6% of the purchase price up to a maximum of $10,000 for the purchase of a home.
